Placed between the wall and ceiling as a room accent
Baseboard Molding
Placed between the wall and floor as a room accent
Chair Rail Molding
Placed about 4 feet from the floor as a room accent; originally used as a barrier to keep chairs from hitting the wall.
Picture Frame Molding
Despite its name, this type of molding isn’t actually made for picture frames. This type of molding can be placed anywhere on the wall as a more elegant accent
Cove Molding
Similar to crown molding in terms of placement, cove molding is concave and gives a smooth transition between the wall and ceiling

Thicker than standard drywall, made with a noise-reducing adhesive.
